Bob Skinstad:
Bob Skinstad enjoyed a distinguished professional rugby career as a dynamic loose forward for the Springboks, Western Province, the Stormers, the Cats, and the Sharks. He earned 42 Test caps for South Africa between 1997 and 2007, scoring 11 tries, captained the national side in 12 Tests and was a member of South Africa’s victorious 2007 Rugby World Cup squad. Having won three Currie Cup titles with Western Province in 1997, 2000, and 2001, he was also a key figure in the rise of the Stormers during the early professional era. Widely admired for his athleticism, skill, and attacking flair, he became one of the most recognizable South African rugby players of his generation.
Michael Hooper:
Michael Hooper is widely regarded as one of the greatest openside flankers in Australian rugby history. He earned 125 Test caps for Australia between 2012 and 2023, making him one of the most-capped Wallabies of all time and serving a record 69 Tests as captain. Hooper has won the prestigious John Eales Medal a record four times (2013, 2016, 2020, and 2021), recognizing him as Australia’s best international player. He was also named Wallabies Player of the Year on multiple occasions and won the Wallabies Rookie of the Year award in 2012. Renowned for his relentless work rate, leadership, and durability, Hooper became the youngest Wallabies captain in the professional era and one of Australia's most influential players.
Bob and Michael will be joining us for a spectacular afternoon of great food and drinks as they share anecdotes on stage and mingle with guests. Already confirmed as host for the evening is England rugby's Martin Bayfield, so it's set to be another unforgettable Long Lunch afternoon!
